Playing with Patina (Oxidizing Copper Wire Jewelry)

I’ve been having a lot of fun with bare copper wire and liver of sulfur to oxidize and then burnish the wire to get unique color variations.

This is aqua terra jasper. It was the first one I did.

This is a cat’s eye stone.

This is also a cat’s eye, but I added in some thicker gauge wire into the trunk to give it more fullness.

I really love the transformation!

I love this so much more once it was patina’d! It gives it an old world, passed on from generations look.
