Yes, I can’t wait for STS to come back! Hopefully @loves2experiment and @alteredmommy will consider hosting it again soon! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

That can certainly be arranged! I’ve missed my STS peeps

Perhaps we can plan a round for late sept/october so that we have time to craft and shop for the holidays!

I like this idea. I am also, finally, going through boxes in my studio that I’ve hardly touched since we moved in (a year and a half ago) Eep! I will start putting things aside for this. Yay!

What’s STS?

“Shop the Swap”
It’s where you offer supplies and crafts from your stash and assign them a “value” of 1, 2, or 3 points. Then you “buy” from anyone in the swap. They gain those points and spend them and the cycle continues until the swap closes.

Hey @Fonduie

It’s for ‘Shop the Swap’ (STS)
Here’s an old summary, but the basic facts are the same:

[GENERAL
The Shop the Swap (or STS) is a different kind of swap in that we start with finished items. We use a point system in which you ‘price’ items in points that you receive when you ‘sell’ your shop item to another swapper. Once you have sent your claim out , you can use those points to ‘buy’ any available item from any open shop in the swap. Like the real world, you can’t spend points that you don’t have (no overdraft here) and you can’t hoard your points under your mattress (you must close and go shopping when you have +7 points)]

I was too lazy to make new words. It’s a wild romp.

It would be fun to have completely fresh shops, with all new merch!

There’s still time to sign up for the Holiday Present Swap. Signups end in about 36 hours.

Hey Round 3 swap organizers! Please remember to update the spreadsheets! Round 4 of swaps are coming up and if your spreadsheets are not up to date than a lot of members cannot sign up for more swaps because they are at the maximum amount. We keep track of how many swaps a member is in so please, please, please update that spreadsheet. It isn’t just for me, it is for everyone who loves swapping.

Thanks!

Awesome! Thanks!

Dang delayed sending and international shipping … (hangs head… and crosses fingers that it’ll arrive in Sweden before next round of swap sign-ups… too many great ideas in round 4!)

Question: If someone has sent, with proof (tracking, etc), do we need to wait for their package to arrive to allow them to join more? When they’ve done all they can, it seems a bit sad to make them wait on the uncontrollable conditions of our overburdened postal service.

@kittykill I’m really hoping this is the case :crossed_fingers:t2::crossed_fingers:t2::crossed_fingers:t2:

After talking it over with the other swap mods… If you partner has not received, and you have met your max on swaps, you have to wait. Currently, if you have outstanding swaps, you may sign up for some in round 4 if you haven’t met your 5 max.

Some things to think about: Sign ups can last 1-2 weeks which means that you still have time for your package to be received.

We are also thinking of allowing swap sign ups to be staggered a little so there is a not a large amount of swaps due at once. (example-the organizer has 1-2 weeks to start sign ups). The last couple of swaps have been mostly due at once and we know that can be a bit much for people. This is just an idea we are toying with so don’t take this as set in stone.

We will still be using google spreadsheets for the database but it will be tweaked a bit. We also have a list of current swappers and their outstanding swaps in the spreadsheets.
