Prayer Flag Spring 2023 Gallery

Loving all the creativity and variety shown in all these beautiful prayer flags!!!

Where does everyone display theirs??

Mine is on the carved wooden screen along with a larger prayer flag (do they come in all sorts of sizes) which has a protection against evil sign on it that my very good friend Max sent to me! (Long time friends - he gets the Christmas mice I make)

I have some hanging in the attic spare room but others have gone outside. Eventually weather wears them down but that’s ok if they were meant to be outdoors.

I have mine strung across a wall high near the ceiling. I’ll take a picture when I add the two new ones I got in this swap.

I also have some clips for my metal supply racks that I rotate out flags and mug rugs.

I don’t have a lot yet, but most of them are kind of haphazardly hung up on the wall behind my sewing machine.

I received from @AIMR on Monday. Sorry for the delay in posting - I’m always tired in July. It’s a lioooooong school year for me.

Anyway, cute frog card

Lots of goodies

Linda made the paper with glue? Please explain on the Paper & MM thread - I think I know how it’s done.

And the flag of course!!

Made with scraps - old jeans and a discarded woven blanket. And a charm from a bracelet that Linda had as a child!

Look at the fringe! Swoon.

Thanks so much. I love swaps where we all have the same starting point and the absolute wealth of different ideas, interpretations, and results we see!

That’s really neat-o. Looks like a fantasy ball net! Catching cosmic spheres. Very cool.

The colorful pieces and the fringe both came from an old Mexican blanket that was discarded at the theater. It was totally moth eaten in a lot of places, but it seemed a shame to toss it out when there was still some life in it. All of the fringe was in tact and it looked hand tied to me…had to save it!

wow, I enjoy hearing the back story on pieces like this!
well done on repurposing the blanket!

I received both of my absolutely gorgeous flags this week!!

This one is from @Smmarrt - it’s gorgeous with all the artfully painted colours, and the typed sentiment looks so cool and is so inspiring!

This one is from @Abbeeroad - I adore the wonderful stitching and scrappy layering, and the Emily Dickinson quote is perfect!

Thank you both so much, I love them!!

Two more beautiful flags!

@Abbeeroad That flag reminds me greatly of one of our first swaps…the lady with the hair! Your style is really showing through…this flag speaks!

Ohh @Smmarrt, I love this & so want to know how you made it. I want painted clothes like that!

@Abbeeroad I recognize that style of girl too, how cool is that?!

I received my flag from @jemimah.

The circles are painted and stitched on individually. The words say “Make art, Create joy.”

And a few extra paper goodies.

Thanks so much, Kirsten. The bright happy circles make me feel bright and happy!
