Pseudo “Military” Honors - High Five Challenge Entry

I would never presume to encourage stolen valor. Ever.

However, as people who wear a lot of hats and keep a lot of plates spinning, I think we deserve an opportunity to pin a medal to our chests from time to time.

So I made five badges meant to reward their wearers for being awesome!

I’m intending to offer these in the STS.

Many of these ribbons are courtesy of @madebyBeaG.

These are so fun and cute! I am a huge fan of the vibe of medals/awards/rosettes/ribbons. You have managed to find the sweet spot of creating pins that are obviously award medals, but also obviously not trying to fool anyone about them being serious or military. KUDOS!

As a military brat, I appreciate your awareness of stolen valor, but medals and awards are suitable for any achievement! These are fun and lovely to collect for accomplishments in life.

They are all lovely, but I love the black netting you used on the bee and gold heart!

These are so nice! I think lots of people deserve medals for awesomeness or bravery. My favourite is also the bee.

Are medals lof this type always associated with the military in the US? Because I remember getting this type of medals, pinned to the chest, as awards in primary school. I think there’s a couple of them in my sentimental box. They looked a bit like “official” medals but stolen valor was obviously not the intent.

Fun fact, we recently found out that one of Mr. Imma’s ancestors received the highest military award in our country, while fighting Napoleon at Waterloo! We’re now trying to figure out if there’s a file on record somewhere, so we can find out what he did to deserve it. Waterloo is so long ago that this fact got lost in time before we discovered it a few months ago, when we researched our family trees.

Very sweet. I love them! My fav is the first one, the pink flower with the pear-shaped charm and the pearl dangle. A good way to use up sewing scraps and jewelry salvage. TFS!

Wow! You need a medal for researching that fun fact!

I love this idea! We used to get similar-style medals in our solo & ensemble band contests, and now you’ve got me wondering whether I have any floating around that I could alter .
