Pyrography Death Star

I had one square left on my Nerd Games bingo card to complete, wood burning. My mother in law gave me a wood burning tool a couple years back, and I made a couple projects with it, but honestly I’m so accident prone that pyrography and I are not the nest of friends. I really wanted to finish a bingo though, so I decided to give it another try. I have some of those wooden rounds cut from branches with a hole in the top, so I decided to make one into a Death Star. Easy right? Several hours and a cramped hand later, it became apparent that it was not, in fact, an easy design. But I didn’t burn myself or the furniture, and the finished product is recognizably a Death Star, even if it isn’t quite as neat as I would have liked. I’m thinking I will give it to a friend who loves Star Wars for Christmas (after they became diabetic baked treats seem like a poor gift). Hopefully they like it.

Definitely recognizable as the Death Star! I would have burned myself for sure, so you did great.

I had a woodburning tool years ago but was too afraid to use it and I included it in a purge several years ago. I regret it now!

Your Death Star is indeed very Death Star-ish! I think it’s a great gift for your friend!
