I bought some of that plush yarn that was on final clearance at Joann’s for a specific project. I had it about 99% complete and just wasn’t feeling it so I frogged the entire project.
At least it was sort of meditative crochet and it kept me from snacking during Project Runway binge watching!
What else do you do with bright yellow plush yarn? Make a duck, of course!
I found a Free pattern, but since amigurumi is not my strong suit, and the yarn was a bit difficult to work with, I went off the rails and just did my own thing with parts of it.

Thanks, friends!
I have little great niece that seems to like the feel of crochet. She immediately took the crochet whale I made her earlier this year so I am hoping she will like this little duck as well. I’ve never had anyone that I can make clothes and toys for until she came along.

I just decided to add to this post. I am also making some Bunanimals for my little niece. These are knitted. Pretty simple, but the ears and tails are a bit fiddly to make. I started with the rabbit and plan on doing the cat and the mouse. The pattern is by Barbara Prime and is called Bunanimals. She has modifications to the pattern so you can make other animals as well, such as a fox, panda, squirrel, seal, dog, etc. They are just so cute!
I used blush in the ears instead of duplicate stitch.
