I think this was the first time I’ve used this nearly empty bottle of Modge Podge for decoupage. This amuses me.
This vase started life as a clear glass tea bottle.
Anyhow, I painted the bottle with multisurface acrylic paint and baked in the oven per the instructions. The bee and crown had been printed on mulberry paper (not by me) and I carefully cut around the edge. I then painted white acrylic paint onto the bottle where I planned to position the bee and crown cut out.
I coated the entire bottle in modge podge and let dry. I used gold leaf adhesive wherever I wanted gold leafing, let it dry until tacky, and then applied the gold leafing. Finally I gave the whole bottle a few coats of varnish.
And here it is on the mantel where it will live.
