Questions about Embroidary?

I’m a novice to embroidery, truth be told I’m probably less than a novice.

I have a family crest (in .png format) that I need converted to a .DST file so my friend can attempt to embroidery it on a shirt as a test (he just started embroidery).

He doesn’t have the Wilcom software and neither do I.

Is there any free online conversion tools available and if so where?

I don’t know of any free conversion tools, but I do know that there are many reasonably priced digitizers on Etsy. Plus, they’re usually pretty quick.
