Quiltalong - 2025

-I MistressJennie , offer Pink & Purple Mug Rugs for November’s prompt (done on time, posted late).
These went into my gift stash for future gifting.

-I MistressJennie , offer Rose Garden Mug Rug for December’s prompt
I put this together for my SIL, with nearly the last scraps of the mini layer cake used in my Rose Garden quilt.

-I your name , offer Gnome Holiday & Gryffindor Mug Rugs for my Medium 4th Quarter challenge entry.
When I was making up kits for my Mug Rug class, I decided to use two hoarded Gnome holiday prints that I’ve been hanging onto, looking for just the right project. In 4 or 5 years that never came, so I decided to just “use the good stuff” and make cute holiday Mug Rug kits with them. Two got used in class, but I came home with 2 spares, so I made those for my daughter’s preschool teachers. The Gryffindor mug rugs were made using the last of my hoarded HP fabrics from Joann’s. I was saving those because Joann’s closed. But now Michael’s carries those fabrics. So it was time to just use the good stuff, to make something for my friend’s HP obsessed tweens.

-I MistressJennie , offer Bird Notebook Cover for my small personal finish.
This was made in about an hour, for my MIL, who was sitting in the next room. I use this tutorial, which allows you to make a notebook cover to fit any size notebook. The notebook itself was of watercolor paper, and it went along with some new paints and a new painting book I got her for Christmas.

-I MistressJennie , offer Tree Ring Basket for my medium personal finish.
This simple little basket (which is actually 6" tall and 12" long) took wayyyyy too long to wrap my brain around. I tried using a new-to-me material, (iron on foam) to give it structure, and was so nervous about the actual project that I made this one as a prototype. I let myself go nuts with the quilting, just outlining the tree rings with scribbles. I almost threw it across the room a few times, but pushed through to finish it. It’s now holding cloth napkins inside the buffet in the dining room.

-I MistressJennie , offer Bumblebee Mug Rug + TUTORIAL WRITE UP for my large personal finish.
This might seem odd to be a Large, but I spent days writing up the extreamly detailed tutorial, and taking dozens of photos, editing them, and arranging everything. It was truly the most in depth quilting project I made this term, and easily took as many hours as a lap quilt.

-I MistressJennie , submit Make Mug Rug Kits for my goal list entry.
I know I took a picture of all the kits I made up, but I cannot find it anywhere. I made 13 kits for a class of 7 students. During the class, I made one as a demo, and a student who enjoyed it a great deal, bought an extra one off of me. So I came home with 4 kits. The two pink & purple, and the two holiday gnome kits. I’m reposting the pics I used above, as proof I put the kits together. Each kit contained the 12 2.5" squares for the front, backing, batting, a strip of binding, two spools of thread (piecing & binding), and a 5" “quilt sandwich” for the students to practice quilting on.
