I’m going to make the Manx quilt blocks into a pouch, and I had a terrible morning with the zip tabs, so I think I can claim the Use Your Seam Ripper bingo call.
First I sewed the wrong side of tab 1, I should have sewed on the right:
Rip, rip!
Then I accidentally sewed the fabric I was using as a hump jumper into the zip tab:
Rip, rip!
Then I sewed the second tab in the wrong place, so the zip was not long enough:
Rip, rip!
I gave up on attaching tabs to zips by machine; I already sew the tops closed by hand because my machine struggles to top stitch close to the edge of tiny things. It took me an hour and a half to get tabs on this zip. So I’m just going to hand sew zip tabs on in future.
