I just wanted to clarify real quick - the last bingo call was to Complete one of your monthly/quarterly goals. We have not had the 2.5" strip prompt called yet.
Your block looks like a fun use for those 2.5" strips though and now you’re ready for when that prompt is called!
I actually also have another simple destress project going on but that’s difficult to see without daylight. So this is an evening project and the other is for weekend days. Plus there’s the hexie quilt but that’s so big and heavy I can only work on it on the sofa, not in my room.
Plus: this is all stash and I think the light coloured fabrics are from a scrap bag or something, I wouldn’t have bought them. So it’s good to use them up.
I’m finally feeling a bit better after 6 days of stomach flu, so I was able to stitch a bit today. I got the 3rd Ghost quilt top done today. Still need to add the eyes and mouth, but having the piecing done feels good.
I also ordered backing from Joann’s, that I need to pickup tomorrow. So close on these!

Glad you are feeling better! So much crap is going around. All the clinics here are requiring masks and if you are having any symptoms, they put you in a different waiting room. I had a stomach bug as well but fortunately, it seems to be a fast leaving one!
Quick Bingo clarification -
A quilted item can be used for more than one prompt - i.e. if you have complete the January BOM on your goal list and you complete it, you would be able to cross of ‘complete one of your monthly goals,’ as well as ‘create a Quiltalong BOM block,’ so long as both prompts have been called.
Hope everyone is feeling better. Today is my turn to be sick! Babying myself today and called in sick to work. It’s also snowing. I made a grocery, TP, and kleenex run last night so I wouldn’t have to go anywhere.
I always think call in sick = I can get things done. But I’m just sleeping and being lazy.
I’m not sure if it was somebody in this group, or a FB group, that suggested tossing the scrappy squares into the dryer on air setting to tumble them and make the mix more random. I tried that but it isn’t working. I still have lots of squares stuck together and not really mixed. But I’m slowly sewing my 500+ 2.5" squares together. I grab a large handful a night, then make myself put it away.

I, AIMR, submit this as my current February BOM. This is also one of my personal goals. I enjoyed making this block but the instructions were not very detailed and some of the cuts were odd. I cut off a few points, but once quilted, I don’t think they will be that noticeable. I also had to add a white border around it since it was a 10.5 square and I needed a 12.5 one. I stuck to my blue and white theme since I seem to have loads of blues.

I saw that…and it turned out lovely! I wish I had made the medium fabric in the center part a bit darker like yours. I might try another one if I have time, with more contrast.
I am working on the alternate Aztec Star from January. I’ll need 20 blocks so I am going to do some repeats or the alternates.

I have a question on the Bingo…if I am playing two cards, does it mean I have to do two of each prompt to mark it off?
Also, could you explain the “create a quiltalong BOM”…does it mean completing one on here or we have to design one?
As you can see the texture is very different and the wool batting is much thicker than the 80/20, which I think will make the quilt feel more cosy. Of course I haven’t used the wool batting yet, but it doesn’t feel like it would be difficult to quilt.
There is a price difference between the two, but it’s not as big as I thought it would be. I bought both off the bolt, they were both extra wide (3 yards width!) which was a pretty good deal. In USD, a lap quilt sized piece of 80/20 cost me $11 and a piece of wool batting cost $17,50. I’d be able to find a piece of cheap (not imported from the US) batting for half of that, but it’s terrible to work with. Imported batting is 10x better.
Of course if you’re making a king size quilt the price difference would add up, but on the other hand, quilting takes so much fabric, time and effort already, the price of batting is only a small part of the cost of a quilt.

I, AIMR, submit this alternate BOM as a small personal finish. This is the alternate Aztec Star. I really dislike making flying geese because I seem to always cut off the points . This one wasn’t as bad.
I will take pictures this week but the Hide and Seek quilt is done! That’s a WIP/UFO from 2022, it originated from when I was packing up my stash to go into storage during the renovation, and didn’t want to pack weird odd shaped scraps. I finished two scrappy tops before the move and cut the blocks for this one, but didn’t get around to finishing it. It wasn’t unpacked until last Christmas.
