It looks great especially with the black
Gorgeous!
Awesome!
This makes me think 80’s/90’s
Yes! Since new goals can pop up at any time, you can add goals to your goal list throughout the quarter.
National Quilting Month (aka March) has arrived!
March Prompt:
Inspired by:
Fall, mail, or flowers
March BOM:
Hunter’s Star Block - Template or paper piecing variation - nominated by @jellybean
HST Hunter’s Star Block - This link does not provide instructions on how to make the block, but it does have photos of the block created with 16 HSTs
Quarter 1 Challenge
(January 1 - March 31)
Quilt something functional.
You could just make a quilt for your bed, after all such a quilt would be quite functional. Or, you make a quilted plastic bag holder like this one @jellybean made for her sister. So long as it serves a functional purpose (beyond being gazed upon and admired), you can submit it for this challenge!
- Simple Quilting Projects that AREN’T Big Quilts (many of which are functional)
- Transform a hoodie into a quilted garment
Goal List:
Can you believe how quickly the end of this quarter is approaching? If you still have goals to complete, now’s a great time to work on them! You can earn a point for every goal you share and complete!
To celebrate National Quilting Month, we’re going to have even more bingo calls this month! We will now have bingo calls each Monday on top of the regular Wednesday calls. So gather up your cards and get ready!
Today’s bingo prompt is:
Finish a WIP
@marionberries, I agree that the black really makes that pattern pop!
How are everyone’s bingo cards coming along? I need to up my quilting game so I can cross off more of the called prompts!
Excellent! Thank you!
Finish a WIP!
I got these scrap fabric pieces in a swap in 2023. I started putting them together for various projects and just never got around to finishing them! I finally dug through my limited stash of browns and found a backing fabric that went with the squares. Did a simple quilting pattern and foldover binding. WIP done!
Warm and cozy. Nice finish!
lol–they are 2 inch squares…it’s just a little mug rug, but thanks!
That little cat is such a fun addition!
Quilted the fifth top today! And got the binding prepped for tomorrow. Not a moment too soon. I have to have any quilts that I’m donating to the Cunningham Children’s Home Festival of Quilts by the 14th.
Today’s Quiltalong bingo prompt is:
Use 2.5" strips
I finally cleared off my sewing table & worked on my bear pillow some more!
Now I need to decide how I should quilt it. Also, I have an 18" square pillow form - does anyone have a suggestion on what size I should make the cover? I thought I read somewhere to make it smaller than the pillow form for a fuller pillow - maybe 16" square?
That’s the recomendation for a nice plump pillow.
Thank you! That’s what I was thinking, but I couldn’t remember where I read it and of course every tutorial I looked at said something different.
Ooh, I’m looking forward to seeing this transformed into a pillow cover! Nice job on the paper piecing!
