Your poor mom! It sounds like she’s really been through the wringer. But it also sounds like she is one tough lady!

I agree with your statement that done is best. As someone who struggles to get my quilts completed, I think it’s wise to have someone else quilt it. Your quilt looks bright and cheery and will undoubtedly be loved and appreciated!

Congratulations on your Bingo!! It looks like the only thing left to make it official is to submit your butterly and flowers quilt top as a monthly prompt. Once you do that, please pm me with your name and address so I can send your prize off to you!

Just because we’ve had a bingo doesn’t mean there’s a reason to throw out your bingo cards. Remember, everyone who has a bingo will win a prize!! Even if you don’t get a bingo, you can still win a prize by earning 7 points this quarter. Information on points can be found here.

I am really looking forward to sending out the first quarter ‘Quilting Friends’ Prize Packs! So please, gather up those points and get those bingos!!

Working for years in theatrical costume shops, we had a saying: ”Done is good. Done is beautiful.” Trust me, she’s always going to remember it as the quilt YOU made for her when she really needed it.

I am two items away from reaching a bingo! Item one is finished and just needs to be posted (see below ). Item 2 just needs embellishments added and it will also be finished.

I, AudiobookLover, offer my finally finished Holly Jolly quilt for my large challenge entry (quilt something functional). This quilt simply needed to be labelled and bound. I credit @AIMR’s game of WIPGO in the 50 projects craftalong for pushing me to finally finish this!

What a fabulous story! You should be proud to be showcased with your beautiful quilts! I know everyone loves the story of how you came to make them. Bravo, my friend!

@AudiobookLover You have inspired me to get so many projects off my WIP list as well.

Love your holiday quilt, way ahead of schedule, er, well, maybe a few years behind, but good for 2025! The binding is just incredible…do you have to cut it on the bias to get the stripes to go like that?

@AudiobookLover Thank you! I received your package with beautiful Tobert Kaufman 5" squares today

I also got my mom’s butterfly quilt back from the lady who quilted it for me.

All the colors!

More butterflies!

I was all excited thinking I’ll have 2 more quilt tops and mom’s quilt done by end of month … but my sewing machine decided to wonk out on me today :disappointed: Im taking it in tomorrow.

Thank you! I originally wanted to do all of the binding with the striped fabric, but since I was using a jelly roll that only had a few pieces of the stripe in that specific coloring, I didn’t have enough for binding. And the fabric was far enough out of date that I couldn’t find any yardage. Hence, the single corner stripe. To be honest, I’m not entirely sure if I like it.

But, to answer your question, I did not have to cut on the bias. I just added the striped jelly roll strip to the green strips when I created the binding.

Congrats on finishing your Holly Jolly quilt!!! I also love the stripe section of binding. Very fun pop.

@EclecticDreamer, the butterfly quilting came out great!

I love that little corner bit!

I have a lot of multi-striped fabric in my stash for some reason…I think at one time I was making pillowcases and used them for the cuff. I was trying to think of how to use them up. I am guessing that to get that diagonal striping that I am going to have to cut it on the bias. I truly love that look!

I FINALLY finished my quilted plastic bag holder. It only took me three months…the thing is HUGE, but it holds a lot of bags. I can then take the whole thing with me to the recycle bins at our grocery store. I’ll do a formal submission of the project later on. I have to get some work stuff done first.

I’m not playing along this year, but I nominate this block for a future BOM.
