Quilted Phone Case

My daughter got a new phone, but phone cases for it were not readily available and thus were stupid expensive. It is not an expensive phone, but it does need some protection if she is going to throw it in her school bag. So I decided to make her a quilted case. I had exactly the right amount of this Star Wars fabric left over after the coffee curtain, so I used it on the outside and plain red cotton on the inside. There is quilting batting in the middle, and I sewed diagonal quilting lines on it to keep it all in place (though you can’t really see them). I made up the pattern, and miraculously it worked. I decided to used a velcro closure rather than a snap so that there wouldn’t be anything to rub against the phone screen on the inside. So far it is holding up well, and protecting her phone. I may add a belt loop to the back for her, as she says it doesn’t really fit in her pocket. But honestly she doesn’t really use it often enough for it to be a big deal.

Cute phone case (and your coffee curtain was really nice as well!).
