I recently retired (yay!) and joined a group that meets once a week to sew together and make quilts for various charities. I’m competent at sewing, but I think the last time I made a quilt (not counting a couple t-shirt quilts) was in 1995! This is my second quilt for the group.
(The blue around the edges is not part of the quilt–that’s the bed.)
Congratulations on your retirement! I am in awe of the woodland blanket. The colors and motifs are so serene and yet somehow pack a punch. Living in the PNW has really made me appreciate the woodland vibes a lot more.
Congrats on your retirement! And heck yeah for making quilts for charity with other crafty folk! I’ve been quilting for Quilts for Kids for years whenever I can, and it’s a wonderful feeling.
Congratulations on your retirement! I’m sure the kids miss you. And I’m going to miss your fun and oh-so-delightfully pattern matched shirts you made for working with them.
Your quilts are lovely and will be so appreciated by those who receive them.
Very cool. I work in the department of my school district that supports the needs of our vulnerable student populations, so anything that supports work with kids is my jam.
Congrats on retiring! Your quilts are beautiful. I especially love the layout of the woodland one. Glad you found a way to continue sewing with the fabric themes. And so wonderful that it’s for charity!
