Rainbow and Bees

I recently wove two tea towels that I’m proud of and wanted to show off.

First is a gradient rainbow towel. The warp is 8/2 cotton in natural and the weft colours are also 8/2 cotton. Just for fun, I changed the direction of the twill where the colours blend.

After the rainbow, on the same natural warp, I wove a Bee themed towel for my hubby who started two hives this summer. I saw a similar Bee towel on Facebook, the designer had shared her pattern but my threading was different so I had to be creative in a few areas to make it all work. This is likely one of a kind as it was challenging!

That’s so cool that you changed the directions of the zigzag for each color change!

I love the gradient but those sideways red and white stripes with the bee highlight are absolutely amazing!

I took a couple weaving classes in college and in general I know I will always be a fumbling beginner at a loom but I do know just enough to know those bees are crazy amazing. Much respect. I love it.

(Gotta laugh at college art student Rhi who thought that weaving would be a fun and easy extra class. :winking_face_with_tongue:)

Amazing! The rainbow towel is so cheerful, I love it. And the bee towel is amazing! I have never seen anything like that, it is really neat!

Thank you! I was a fumbling beginner too but anything to do with yarn catches and keeps my attention.

My extra class college class was dance, I lasted one day :joy:
