There was a lot of yarn, so I picked out some red/yellow/orange/green/blue to make a rainbow blanket with. Everything was from their stash except the purple stripe in the border (they didn’t really have any purple, so it’s from my stash).
I didn’t want to have to weave in a bunch of ends, so I chose a pattern where I wouldn’t have to! The colors switch after every 2 rows, so the other color gets carried up the side.
I definitely should have tested some of the mystery yarn before I used it. Everything looked/felt fine while I made the blanket (and the stash was 99% acrylic), but after washing I realized one of the yarns probably had some wool or something in it.
At least it didn’t really shrink, just felted a bit (lighter green on the right side):
It looks amazing! Those color changes are magic and the pattern is the perfect texture to give it visual interest. Such a cheerful cozy blanket to cuddle up with!

Love the gradient from color to color. The pattern is mesmerizing. Another beautiful project.
Following the progress shots in the lounge I didn’t have a good sense of the scale of the pattern. It’s so much smaller and more intricate than I thought.
I just love this so much! Thanks for the link to the pattern. I need to find more storage for my stash so I think I’ll follow your lead and make blankets instead . I am impressed by the beautiful way you blended the colors. I hope my stash will yield some equally pleasing combinations.
