Rat (or rodent) Hammock and Pockets, Flannel

I started making my own hammocks and pockets for our rats  (We have three boys and spoil them greatly)

Flat hammock using leftover flannel and ribbon loops. It’s a little small but functional

Matching pocket for treat hiding.

And another pocket using leftover flannel and fabric from my kiddo’s worn out jammies. I think I’ll keep working on this pattern and try for a bigger one next time. It’s hard to tell in the picture but it’s a square with overlapping triangles. It works for treat hiding but it’s not very big if they want to snuggle up inside

And here’s Scruffy investigating and looking for the treats inside :kissing_heart:

Thanks for looking! :rat:

What a great way to reuse old worn out items and give them a whole new life! Your rats are so amazingly lucky to have you.

I bet they are extra snuggly in flannel. The fabrics are fun too. Scruffy is adorable!
I dated a guy that had a pet rat (Eve) she didn’t even live in a cage. She was litterbox trained and super smart. She would give kisses and do tricks. It was super cute.
