Reflective Florals

I made these two 5x7" watercolor paintings for the recent Grab Bag swap. So often when I paint I get caught up in the little details, obsessing, reworking. With these two I tried to be a bit more free and loose. I wanted something that’s just pretty and calm. And because my inner niffler is always present, they needed a bit of shine so I finished each with metallic ink.

With the blue, I went a bit bonkers with the tiny details but I love the end effect.

With the warm toned piece I was more successful at embracing simplicity.

And a pic to show the shine in action:

@Manders, @MistressJennie, @Magpie - thank you!

@Renstar - thank you! I can’t wait to see what you paint and doodle! It’s such a fun technique.

Don’t be holding your breath waiting, I’m a slow crafter with a million projects in some form of flight!!

But I do like what you did and bookmarked this!

Both sets are great. The warm set looks like it has some dimension to it.
