We live in a leased townhouse community and had discovered the neighbor directly behind us had two security cameras filming us for around 9 months before I caught them. Situation has resolved but I still feel like someone is watching. We attached vinyl lattice to treated& pre-stained fence boards. The fence boards were attached to the existing fence with steel hanging straps. Left side of the strap screws into the wood, the middle of the strap wraps snuggly over the existing metal post, then the right side of the strap screws into the wood. I feel like we gained another room.
Eep! That’s kind of horrifying. ![]()
This looks like a lovely way to feel less creeped out about it. Are you planning to grow vines on the trellising?
That’s absolutely disturbing. I’m sorry that happened to you, but glad you found a solution. Although no one should have to put up a fence just to feel safe to live/go about their business!
Wow, that’s horrifying. Beautiful solution, though.
Such an innovative use of common materials to make an impermanent privacy fence! The predominant use of cameras around private residences is creepy in so many ways, but recording the neighbors is one of the most creepy. And in a lot of cases, there’s no stopping it if the cameras’ owners don’t want to.
Invasion of privacy should not be taken lightly. Glad you caught them and were able to put a stop to it, but I understand now how you feel. Good solution.
That’s a clever solution for something you can easily remove later. Sorry that happened. It feels like there are cameras everywhere these days, but you have the expectation of privacy in your own home, for heaven’s sake.
My husband is considering Muscadine grapes and wants a bird feeder
Thank you! I am glad my husband insisted on ordering the finishing details. We’ve already had 2 neighbors say they want to build the same type of fence.
It looks great and really does give the feel of a new room! Awesome solution.
