Ruth Bader Ginsburg Doll

Back in 2024, I was perusing Spoonflower, and came across the pre-printed panel of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. I had hoped to get it made before the election so I could take her to my polling station with me. But life events intervened, and I didn’t finish it in time. I had the arms and legs cut and sewn, and everything else cut out, but that was it. Then my sewing machine broke.

I was visiting a friend this weekend, and could use her machine, so I finally got her finished! Her robe is sewn separately. I might hit a few areas with a Sharpie to cover up where some of the white background fabric is. Also, if I were to do this again, I would stitch a line at the elbows and knees to make her a little more pose-able. She’s pretty lanky!

Oh dear, this is amazing! I think she’d be awesome at future elections, too. Could you hand sew a little dimple at her elbows and knees if you were inclined?

That’s a good idea! I have doll needles somewhere, so I could definitely do it.
