It’s a dangerous business being crafty when everyone knows you will take their garbage and turn it into things. ![]()
I work at a marketing firm, and the other week our printer called me to the print shop out of the blue. First thing out of her mouth was “I was going through the recycling…” and I knew I was in for a treat. She gave me a box full of paper sample books, which are like portfolios of different kinds of paper we can order from suppliers.
I spent that night ripping them out of the binding, and the next night trimming the rough edges. Here’s what I ended up with:
After that, I cut all of the white, off-white, and cream pages into a variety of sizes to make coil-bound notebooks. The ones in the first photo are what I’ve made so far, with many more to come.
The covers are made of offcuts of record album covers from bigger album cover notebooks that are in progress.
Inside, the backs of some pages include pictures, watermarks, or descriptions of the paper type, which I think adds to their upcycled charm!
Feels nice to be upcycling again these days, especially around Earth Day!
Thanks for looking!
