Scrappy badge of encouragement

I brought a sack of scrap fabric & thread from home as a travel craft for this trip & have actually done more stitching this week than the past few foreverishes.
Here’s a little whatever I made for Edel as a reminder of our favourite reason for things.

And since it’s always fun to see the process, this started as the edge of a vintage pillowcase.

Seam ripped the edge open

Bitty little snippets applied in the hoop, embroidered font sewn on turned edge appliqué style

Then folded back up to enclose the stitches on the back & bound edges.

Tada! Something for no reason at all except because.

An excellent reason. And an excellent stitch!

It’s really rather dreamy! All the details are great, but something about that dark binding going all the way to the bottom of the lace really speaks to me.

Oh my! What a lovely little reminder! Sometimes “because” is the only reason one needs!

It’s absolutely wonderful and perfect! I love the pillowcase trim addition, what a novel approach.

What a fun and creative idea and a great use for that pillowcase trim! I especially like how you just folded the back fabric up to cover all those stitches - very clean finish.
