Scrappy Hen Basket

I made this for @marionberries for the tic-tac-toe swap. I love this pattern and have made it more than once for swaps. I love the vintage handmade lace I was able to incorporate into thisnhen, but regret the green buttons for eyes. Wrong choice.

I was surprised and more than a little embarrassed when she posted a photo of this and the previous chicken I made her. I completely forgot who that first hen went to. :woman_facepalming::woman_facepalming::woman_facepalming: Maybe marionberries just seems like the kind of person who needs clucky little ladies around the house?

Ive always wanted chickens on the yard, but my DW says no. We are in the city and a small lot so I really never expected a yes. But a few chickens around the house reminds me of my grandma’s farm. Two scrappy chickens is a wonderful bonus.
So no embarrassment @MightyMitochondria , just chicken luck.

It’s so sweet! And hens prefer flocks, right?

If I were @marionberries, I might not have shown the first hen so that more might be headed my way!! ha ha Who wouldn’t want more of your unique hens? Each one is a wonder in stitching and fabric choices! I just love them and hope you will remain forgetful in future swaps…
