I made this sea turtle for @Tapestry in a personal swap earlier this year and realized I never posted it! I used a tutorial from Lachri over on YouTube and did trace the general shape of the sea turtle and features so I could focus on the fun bits I used pan pastel for the background and to block in the colors then colored pencil and pastel pencil for all the details.
I love him soooooooooooo much and my mom is thrilled to have him hanging on her wall. The detail is just gorgeous. Thank you for parting with him. Your talent with pastel and pencil is so inspiring!
He looks so soft and dreamy! I have a bunch of pan pastels I got years ago. I need to dig those out and play around with them a bit more! I know Iโd never be able to come close to something this amazing, however.
What type of colored pencils did you use? Prismacolors?
You should! I bet you could make something gorgeous with them!
Polychromos, Caran dโAche Luminance, and Derwent Lightfast. I found out that like 2/3 of prismacolors arenโt lightfast so I switched to other brands.
