My son hasn’t been trick or treating for the last 4 years. He stopped at 9 years old, pretty young. Anyway, he decided to go this year since his friends invited him, but at the last minute!
He needed a costume quick (notification just this past Tuesday night), but he didn’t want an off the rack outfit. Of course this Mama was a bit stressed but made it happen. Finished with only 2 hours before they were meeting up.
So much work went into this costume! That slingshot had to be that big since video games exaggerate the weapons into as big or bigger than the character.
Great job on pulling that togehter! My son is 16 and this is the first year he decided not to go trick-or-treating. I was a little sad at the passing of an era.
@Tapestry 9 was soooo young. Glad he went this year. Your son is older and it’s to be expected around that age to stop, but I get it. At any age it’s almost letting go of childish things and a sign of growing up.

The costume turned out to be completely recognizable and fun! I can’t believe you had time to crochet the headband!
The headband was the least of my troubles. That was a quick one, the air dry clay for the blue horns were the first I made for drying time then the paint the shirt. Drying time were needed to be considered. The slingshot was made with cardboard and duck tape. No drying time needed. That was done last.
