I started with a piece of batting and backing bigger than the piece I wanted the final sloth to be. Then starting from the centre, doing a mixture of QAYG and a technique similar to foundation paper piecing I added piece after piece of fabric.
From there, I drew the giant sloth on a piece of butchers paper to create a template, then cut the mini quilt to the shape I needed
