The pattern is a Prairie Schooler one that @irid3sc3nt was kind enough to alter for me to make it a smiling pumpkin. I had made the frowning, original pattern for @Kwality570 in a swap and decided I wanted to have both!
It looks great! I have not heard of a crochet frame. I love the extra decorative effect it has given the piece. How did you do it?
And did you put stuffing under the JoL?

Thanks!
You just crochet a circle or square the same size of your piece then do a couple rounds of slip stitches to make it curl up around.
I glued batting over a circular piece of cardboard, cut the piece in a circle with notches and glued the notches to the cardboard in back. Cover the back with felt or paper if you want it extra nice (I didn’t because it is not going to be seen in the frame).
I have such a hard time finishing my cross stitch. I have at least seven that need framing. I’ve been thinking it would be neat to try a 3D printed frame. Several libraries around me will do 3D printing for you.
Both pieces look great and I love how you finished each!

Finished the frowning pumpkin to complete the set! I reversed the image on my computer using the original pattern. They don’t match exactly because apparently I am terrible at counting… Close enough!
I use mine to keep bits of embroidery thread when I am stitching and watching TV. It sits on my desk in my crafting room! I just wish I could find that trim I used for yours! I thought I bought two or more at the Dollar Store, but maybe not! Oh well, it forced me to use an alternate finish, which I also love.
Both will be hanging by my entrance door in October!
