Snow day give away

When life has me all stressed out sometimes I need to just sew something mindless with no thought or consequences.

Work problems have me pretty deep in the feels so I found a bag of premade half square triangles and bashed this out. And since I had no plan but to work through some nervous energy and figure out my life. I’m gonna give it away.

I need to remember I’m not what they think I am.

As far as I can tell you’re a strong, smart, witty, strong willed, caring, and ridiculously prolific woman. So if anyone is making you feel otherwise, you can send them my way and I’ll give them a piece of my mind. A lot of times people try to make us feel less/smaller to make themselves feel better, it’s more of a reflection on them than on you. Keep being your amazing self!

You’re not what THEY THINK you are, you are what YOU KNOW you are!
You are a wonderful person.
And your quilt, as always, is amazing!

I love how the quilt is grounded with the blacks. It is really lovely!

When people have to put others down to elevate themselves, they they are not the people you need in your life. Close your ears to the outside and pay attention to your inside and the guidance of those who know and love you.

This can be a time of reflection for you. Maybe there are things you need to address, but you will know yourself better than others! I hope things get better for you in 2026!

Pardon my language, but screw those people.
You and everyone here kick serious ass.

I say find your least favorite, largest book and chuck it at em. Knowledge is power and the more knowledge in a book, the heavier it is, and the more powerful it hits. Just saying. :man_shrugging:

The quilt is beautiful and I’m glad you were able to craft through some of your stress. So many others have said it more eloquently, but I wanted to add my emphatic support. You are strong, capable, talented, prolific, creative, and altogether wonderful.

Happy birthday! You are smart and giving and talented and kind and so many other wonderful things. Your LC friends ALWAYS have love for you!

And this quilt is fantastic! Not just anyone can take a bag of random and make it into something useful and beautiful (I know I sure can’t) but you do it all the time!!

I don’t know you well enough that my opinion really holds any weight but in general other people never know us the way we do. :purple_heart:

What I do know is that you have made crafting skills that be proud of. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I love what you did with those triangles! Don’t let the haters get you down. You are beautiful, just like your quilt creations. Don’t let those meanies get inside your head; write your own story.

Beautiful, bash it out quilt! I really like the white lines, it gives it a modern twist. Oh and the cats waiting to cuddle in the quilt are so cute. I bet they will be bummed it’s not for them:)

I feel you with work! It’s miserable having to constantly truncate yourself for others subjective expectations. We are never what others think we are, we aren’t even what we think we are. Just an ever changing, adapting soul who is in a constant state of growth and evolution. Good for you for turning to something beautiful instead of something destructive for comfort. :sparkling_heart:

This is absolutely delightful, thank you for sharing it. I am glad that you found something enjoyable to do with the energy. I found this quote from The Comfort Book by Matt Haigh useful, but hard to do: “Your self-worth is not found in the minds of other people”.

I hope the pressure eases soon, friend

It’s a wonderful quilt!! I’m glad you found such a great way to react to the frustrations at work to create something of beauty that will enrich someone’s life, delight them with the colors and comfort them with warmth!!
