I made this card for a friend who moved to Romania last year. I didn’t get her address until far too late for a Christmas card to arrive, so I pivoted to a general winter card. Let’s hope it arrives before spring!
This is my favorite card so far. Though I did spend wayyyyyyyyyy more time than I meant to on it. And I need more heavy white cardstock.
Process pics:
I die cut two identical fancy rectangles from white card stock. I used Distress Oxide ink to make a blue sky on one and stamped in a few pine trees. Then I went to town with some white splatters for snow.
Next I stamped my snowman on the second rectangle.
I cut out the top of the snowman and a slope for a hill, then colored that piece with alcohol markers, added highlights with a white pen, and deepened my outlines with black ink.
The sentiment was stamped on black cardstock, dusted with embossing powder and heat set, before being fussy cut and mounted with some foam squares for extra dimension.
I tested a couple background papers before settling on the gingerbread snowflakes. That paper isn’t stiff enough to form a card base though and I didn’t have any white cardstock big enough to make a 5x7" card…so I cut one 5x7" panel and one 5x7.5" panel from cardstock and glued them together, before adding the top panel.
