Snowflake stocking

I made this for my DIL. She chose the pattern out of one of my old cross stitch magazines, and the lettering out of a different pattern book. I think it turned out really pretty, but a lot smaller than I anticipated. I even cut the stocking out quite a bit larger than the pattern indicated.

A close up of some of the beading on it:

Thanks for looking!

So very pretty! I guess Santa will just have to stick with jewelry… that’s small.

Thanks, everyone! I had fun, especially with the beads and iridescent floss.

@steiconi you’d be amazed how hard it is to find navy Aida anymore… I hunted high and low, in stores, online (super expensive). And then discovered that I had some in my stash! :joy:

I’ve been coloring muslin with watered down craft paint, that should work for aida, too. Probably 75% water, 25% paint for dark colors. Dampen the fabric first, then paint on the mixture. Dry flat on a rack if you can; the color tends to settle, so wrinkles become light and dark patches.
