Sophie's Universe Throw Blanket

I finally finished my Sophie’s Universe throw blanket! I started it in 2020, put it in time out for a while, and finally picked it back up last year. I’m so happy that it’s done!

Pattern: Sophie’s Universe CAL
Hooks: E (3.5 mm), G (4.0 mm)
Yarn: Scheepjes Colour Crafter (DK weight)

Way back in 2017 I bought the Sophie’s Universe pattern book and two of the official packs of yarn (the medium Rainbow Colour Crafter version) in case I ran out of yarn. For some reason I didn’t start it until 2020, then worked on it periodically until I put it in time-out in 2022. (I forgot to switch hooks when I was supposed to and didn’t feel like dealing with it.)

Last year, I picked it back up and realized it didn’t look as bad as I thought it did. I frogged the round I was on and restarted with the larger hook. A few months and many many hours later, it’s finally done!

Some in-progress pictures:

I kept track of how much time this project took out of curiosity, and it took ~220 hours! It was a fun project, but I’m looking forward to working on something else!

(Thank you to everyone who cheered me on in the snapshot thread! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:)

Good for you!

I love that you’re so honest about the timeline. I sometimes buy things I want to start but it’s not the right time . So I’m glad to see we can finish years old WIP’s.

This is a beautiful and complicated blanket and I hope it keeps you warm for years to come

Oh. My. God. Seriously mouthwatering. I don’t know how else to explain it. Maybe cuz it looks kind of like candy? It just looks delicious. I love this kind of crochet. This thing is a masterpiece. It definitely makes me want to try crochet again. Amazing job!
