Spiderman 2099 Ornament

Each year my kids pick an ornament (from Hallmark, Etsy, or online) that represents either something important that happened that year or something they loved. Sometimes we can’t find the right ornament for what they want though and then it’s “Mom, can you make one for me?”

And sometimes I get really, really behind on making their ornaments. This is my daughter’s 2024 ornament…finished two days ago.

She LOVES Miguel O’Hara, Spiderman 2099, and is completely obsessed with his character. I blame ACROSS THE SPIDERVERSE. Here’s my wonky attempt at my daughter’s one, true, fictional love.

Acrylic on chipboard with scrapbook paper backing.

this is so well done - you def have the talent that your kids’ expectations of your ability are not misplaced! hahaha, and i know as gratifying as it is that your kids think you can just do EVERYTHING (“Oh no problem! Mom can fix it! She can do Anything!”) i know my ability can only go so far. it’s so nice that they have such confidence in what we can do, though lol

Thank you! I don’t mind the ornament requests, its the 3am “help my computer is acting up and I have an essay due at 6am” ones or the last minute “I invited 12 friends over this weekend, that’s okay right?” ones that kill me. This morning I was woken by son telling me the dog had thrown up three times on the only bit of carpet we have downstairs. Was he going to clean it up? Of course not. Mom life!

thankfully my son is an introvert, so the last minute friends over is not a problem :joy: however substitute ‘cat’ for ‘dog’ and t’s the same story lol …. luckily for my kids, i’m contractually obligaited as their mother to love my spawn :woman_shrugging:
