Woke up from surgery last month to three messages asking for baby quilts for July. It never rains but it pours
First up the brief was a tummy time, stroller size. Blue and yellow. Mama’s favourite animal is sloth(!!) Add the name on the back.
I don’t usually use white for baby quilts, but it seemed right. The back is a black print with multi coloured little crosses and X’s. And. Since the mama and I met working at the Shakespeare theatre. And mama and da met doing theatre I figured the center block was appropriate
Lastly was the one that gave me so much trouble. The brief was “nursery is woodland theme with greens and trees”. No butterflies no squirrels. And I made one quilt top that I just hated. So I started over. And I really do love this one.
Gorgeous quilts! I love the tree one best and that binding fabric is amazing. I’m sure the squirrels are so subtle it won’t be an issue. The tree carving embroidery is darling.
Beautifully done. I love the first one. The circles are so perfect.
The squirrels are so hidden on the back. Hopefully they aren’t that picky. If so, they are losing out on a great quilt.
These are all gorgeous and I love how you put your heart into each one. I hope they are well received, as I think it would be an honor to own one of your quilts.
I love your backing choices and the heart on the tree trunk is the perfect touch! These are all great, but I especially love that tree quilt. It’s so unique and such a fun use of squares to create that tree shape!
