Starfleet Academy "Book" Bag

While I was making a “book” bag for my friend, I figured why not make one for myself as well.

Another of my friends had gotten me a set of Star Trek Starfleet Academy books for Christmas, after we’d been talking books and I had mentioned how I had the whole set of them and sort of regretted selling them off in my 20s. I specifically remembered the Capture The Flag one, so decided to use that one (scanned the cover and printed on printable fabric).

The Book quilt block pattern I used was by BurlapBlossomPattern.

I had just enough space fabric for the bag. And also leftover Star Trek fabric from a skirt I had made for the lining.

New going-to-the-library tote? I think yes!

I think yes, too! Wicked awesome & that lining fabric is such a score!

I definitely treasure the Star Trek fabrics I’ve managed to get my hands on over the years. I made a dress from the fabric Jo-Ann fabrics had carried featuring the covers from the vintage TOS comics and it’s in the top three articles of clothing for compliments I get.

Aw yeah! This is so cool! It’s particularly cool that Geordi is featured, because fo LaVar Burton-Reading Rainbow connection!

OMG, I ADORE this bag!! Great idea printing the cover of a book on fabric, and that lining fabric  I’ve got a bunch of ST:TOS fabrics but I don’t think I’ve got any Next Gen ones, I must go on the hunt!
