Stitchalong with Me in 2025

Another stitching project. This was doing a sashiko design and turning it into a pincushion. I used some shirbori dyed fabric from the Canada meet-up for one side! I only have a few more pieces left so I wanted to create something for me.

One of the things I am learning about myself is that I am not really a precise crafter. I prefer looser and more unstructured types of projects. I do like the more structured ones to help me gain better skills, but I don’t think I could do sashiko like this everyday.

Oh! I really love this!

I’m with you on the lack of precision. I have to force myself into that square and I often don’t fit!

Love your unstructured style.

For some reason I thought this started in June…but it’s next month! There’s still plenty of time to work on this quarter’s theme:

OR monthly theme:

In the Making Zen 2025 I learned how to make two new stitches: drizzle stitch and worm stitch!

I have a stitch sampler journal that I have been working on so these two stitches will be perfect for the theme!

I have never heard of those stitches…interesting. Your Chicken Scratch embroidery from your little needlebook counts, too! You are learning a lot from those classes.

Making a bit of progress, but it’s going to take forever to finish this because I uncleverly have chosen all botanicals and no background filling pieces!

For the stitchalong, does a project have to be started this month? Because I’ve got two WIPs that have a beach theme, but they weren’t started this month. One is a long-term UFO and the other was started last month when I was really looking forward to our beach trip! Although this question will probably end up being unnecessary because it’s unlikely I finish either one this month …

It’s totally fine to submit an on-theme WIP for this!
