I love a lightweight cotton sweater. I had the light blue yarn (Hobbii Rainbow 8/4 cotton) from a frogged project and bought the dark blue to go with it (I didn’t want to try to match dye lots buying more of the original color). This was a great pattern, and the things I dislike about this sweater are all my own doing, lol. The pattern has instructions for 4 yarn weights and comes in sizes S-4XL, which makes it very versatile and size-inclusive.
I’ll be making this sweater again and paying closer attention to gauge. I didn’t have the size 2.5 needles that the pattern called for, so I went up to a size 3. So, my gauge was off. I tried to compensate by going down a size, but I probably should have gone down 2-3. I guess I’ll just try and rock the oversized and off-the-shoulder look that my glamorous sister pulled off in the 80s. If only I still had my hair crimper…
The boxy, oversized sweater is currently on trend. If you are stuck on how to style it PetiteKnit tends to do a lot of this style, maybe check out some of her sweaters for some inspo.
Thanks, @TheMistressT ! I’ve always liked the ‘preppy’ look.
Thank you, @jemimah! It is so soft and drapey - I’m contemplating another one, but I keep slapping the yarn out of my proverbial hand (read: Hobbii shopping cart) because I have other things that need to get finished.
