Sump Butter (Sunflower & Pumpkin seed)

Woooooohooooooooo! It worked…:smiley_cat:

Edit

I forgot, but this is a lot more healthier, too. I didn’t have to add any oil to get it smooth. It started off chopping them (first 5-8 minutes), then it ground them fine (About 10 to 15 minutes. This was the longest), then the third step was a gooey ball that bounced around (About 1 to 3 minutes), then the final step was a nice smooth butter. I would say about 1/3 of the time was spent stirring it, so this small food processor would have been probably a tad bit easier for that than my larger one…Which, I will have to try to use at some point…I ate all I made in just a few minutes,, it was way too good.

End Edit

Now I may not be able to tell ya’ll how tasty it is, but I can at least add some information for how to make it,.

First, I found a link to a video, (Pumpkin Seed Butter), then I got out my wimpy food processor.

Instead of 15 minutes as per the video, it took me 25 minutes.

Also, instead of roasting the seeds in the oven, I used a skillet. I fried them until they smelled just right (which, considering how wonky my sense of smell has been, :man_shrugging:t3: who knows what that means,. About 8 to 12 minutes with constant stirring towards the last few minutes).

Also, (i’ll say it even though it might not mean the same to ya’ll smell-capables,) it tastes a lot better than what I made in a mortar.

Again, WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Sump butter… the name sounds questionable but I bet the results are tasty!

Here’s some Cashew-Pumpkin-Flax butter.

I didn’t have that much pumpkin seeds left, so I rummaged through my flours to see if anything would work, and the flax flour seemed to have the most oils still in it. However, I guess not as it took quite a bit longer and it’s still pretty gritty.. Next time I get some pumpkin seeds I’ll have to see what else I could get…Also, I really need to do some searching and see if I can cut the costs down. So far it seems to be quite pricey to do this…Of course it doesn’t help that I have absolutely no will power when it comes to natural nut butters…Man, they taste too good,.
