We recently wrapped a production of Calendar Girls at the community theatre I’m involved with. I had ordered beads and charms to make these danglers/keychains for the cast and crew for closing night, but my mail didn’t arrive until the day after the show closed – of course!
Thankfully, we had a reunion party this past weekend and I was able to finish them up and bring them there, for everyone to choose one if they so wished.
Each one is a little bit different – same formula to bead sizing and layout, but different beads. I’m also obsessed with making this kind of keychain now, so I anticipate many more in the future!
Not great photos, but I was just so happy to have done something crafty again, I had to share!
In true crafter’s fashion, I was finishing these about five minutes before I had to leave for the party and trying to figure out how to photograph them all without having to lay them all out somewhere. String ‘em on a random fairy wand from the costume bin!
Thanks all! I brought two dozen and came home with eight, but I’m sure a few folks who couldn’t make it to the party will get them eventually.
I had a very small but memorable role in the show as a lady who shows up to give a speech about broccoli. When I realized my beads weren’t going to show up in time to make these keychains, I called a photographer friend of mine to do a glam shoot of me, in character, with crowns of broccoli, and made magnets for everyone. Everyone was pretty surprised I had a backup gift! Haha.
Have to share one of the photos. There were about 60 but this one’s definitely a fave!
These are great! It’s wonderful that you made everyone something to keep as a memory from the show.
Mini Fluffypants is a very cute merch presenter and I love your photo with the broccoli
