Sunpainting on an upcycled receiving blanket

Edited to add: here is a link to my Instructable post explaining the process. https://www.instructables.com/Not-Your-Mothers-Tie-Dye-How-to-Sunpaint/

I saw this while going through old pictures. It is an upcycled receiving blanket I sun painted a bajillion years ago. I probably shared it on the old site. The child who eventually received it is probably almost old enough to have children of their own.

I just received a gift of a huge bag of old linens that are two stained to use as is. I am thinking of doing this to them. Then I’ll see if I still want to cut them up for the project I originally intended or if I want to recirculate them for their intended use.

I love sunpainting. I need to do more of it.

This turned out pretty and a great resolution for an old project!

That’s gorgeous and a great repurpose! If you do sunpaint the linens you just got I hope you’ll share process pics! I’d love to see how your process works.

It’s really just so pretty!

This is beautiful, so colourful

@MistressJennie sent me a piece of sunprinted fabric. I think it was taught at the last meet up. I am also fascinated by the process. I did a bit using indigo dye but have totally forgotten how I did it, so I would be interested in seeing your process as well!

That is just a gorgeous blanket…I bet the person still has it (or at least parts of it?)…
