Swimming doll- a family ATC

I made this one for my daughter for Christmas but forgot to take a pic before I sent it to her… :woman_facepalming: It took a while for her to finally send me a pic!

When she was 9, we took a family trip to western Canada, where I grew up. At West Edmonton Mall, she chose a Dreamsicle doll as her souvenir, and shortly thereafter accidentally dropped if off the bridge that spanned the submarine ride and aquarium. You never saw such a fuss! And her younger, uber-practical brother had plenty to say about her poor choices!

I’m pleased to say that no dolls were harmed in the making of this memory.

My awesome hubby quickly found a maintenance worker with a rowboat to fish the doll out. It was wet, but didn’t sustain any lasting damage.

I’m very familiar with the location you described, I can just picture the scene :joy::joy:

What a harrowing tale to go with this cute ATC! I admit that the rescue of the doll felt like a plot twist!

We often walk along the bay with LittleBookLover and I am always concerned about something like this happening (especially since he has a tendency to toss his toys out of the stroller way too often!). I’m glad the doll (and the rest of your day) was rescued! Your background does a great job of depicting the scene.

Thanks!

And yikes- I totally get that concern!

Thankfully the doll didn’t sink, which was kind of a miracle…
