I’ve been making jewelry out of plastic swizzle sticks, I’ve gotten from my many ventures to tiki bars and conventions. These swizzle stick earrings were from the Inuhele tiki convention in Atlanta.

Sort of! It’s still a work in progress. My electric drill works…my biggest pet peeve is that after making 2 holes or so, plastic melts around the drill bit. So I have to put the bit over a candle flame to melt the plastic off. I do have a small hand drill, but that takes a lot of elbow grease for my like. I just ordered a hand push drill, so maybe that will be a happy medium…

To be honest, it’s not an original idea. I saw someone do it on Etsy and Facebook, and I was like I have swizzles, and I could probably figure out how to do this myself. I’ve also made a swizzle stick charm bracelet.
