As a thank you for people who joined the recent Tea For Two swap I wanted to make something special. I settled on making cards for them that can double as art prints. To that end, I painted this whimsical little teapot house. I love it to bits and hope everyone enjoyed their thank you cards! I also included stickers I made from my Sip, Sip, Horray art piece.
The original painting is 5x7 watercolor and ink on hotpress paper and will be in my shop for STS. I made a high-res scan of the finished painting and printed 4x6 panels on my inkjet printer. They were awful and dark. I was cursing my printer (which is supposed to be decent!). Which is the point at which I learned the kind of paper you use maters ALOT. All other settings are the same. But below is a version printed on card stock next to a version printed on Red River artist quality paper. Night and day.
For card bases, I used some cards I believe @irid3sc3nt sent me ages ago in the Use It Lose It craftalong. I thought the dark blue was a nice contrast.
I received it the other day! Thanks! It was opened along the way, not sure if it was intentional or not, but I think the card and tea arrived undamaged.
There should have been a sticker as well. But if that’s the only thing that went missing, I’ll count myself lucky! And start taping my envelopes more aggressively.
@Immaculata - the sticker is a duplicate of the one I sent with your original envelope so if it did go missing you at least have that one. But I’m happy to send another if you’d like!
