Ten Ink Box Cards

Set #1 for @gozer

  1. Vintage Fischer Price Little People Doing Naughty Things
I laughed about this for days before I managed to stop long enough to draw this. Ink and colored pencil.
  2. Flowers and Snakes
I turned a watercolor painting I wasn’t happy with into a masterboard for this one and then glued on some Lego snakes (because I have a dozen of them for some reason).
  3. Cats
Paint, cats cut out of magazine ads, silver paint, ink, and then I just love this quote about cats so I added that too.

And then there’s the cat mishap:

The stamp I made turned out great but the ink was not playing nicely with anything else. In the end, this card still made it in the box headed out to Gozer.

Set #2 for @jeanneleigh

  1. Flowers
I used more of the old watercolor masterboard and then drew in some more flowers in ink.
  2. Crows/Ravens
Scrapbook paper grass, a Sharpie crow silhouette, a little gang of handdrawn ravens, and of course some shiny sequins for them! (The sequins never did stay where I put them and I saw one had moved again in Jeanne’s pics. But they don’t fall OFF, which is weird. Raven magic, I guess.)
  3. Bees
The background bee sat on my desk for quite a while before I decided what else to add… And then I remembered Akeelah and the Bee. Apidae is Latin for bees and that is Akeelah in a spelling bee. So, multiple bees!

Set #3 for @Smmarrt

  1. Library
Ink drawn shelves and books with colored pencil. Painted in spooky eyes. And then it just needed a ladder, so I made one out of toothpicks and painted it brown. (I was so worried this wasn’t going to make it safely but it did!!)
  2. Nancy Drew
This one was originally all collage but then there was a tragic accident while trying to press it flat. I ended up painting it all back in with acrylic paint after spending a few days in a bit of a panic. Seems to have turned out ok though.
  3. Quote About Creativity
The background is another old watercolor painting. I love this particular quote and I hope Smmarrt does too!

I really enjoyed the challenge of making tiny art for the Ink Box Card Swap. I hadn’t done an ATC or anything in ages. It’s a fun challenge!

Your cards look amazing. I love the ones you sent me. My favorites are the Fisher Price one and the stamped cat.
Those kids are some rebels. Doing all that in a classroom! Hahahah!

I do! I don’t have that one in my “go to” list but I’m adding it.
