Today is drop off for the Vintage Circus art show at the community gallery. I decided I had time to make one more piece of artwork for it. I wanted the bearded lady’s portrait to look like an old weathered b&w photograph. So I painted her in black and grey watercolors and then stained her with tea, Constant Comment to be exact. She looks good and smells good. I put her in a black frame for the show.
She is fabulous! Bonus for also smelling good!
So fun! Also love that it smells good, too! Multi-sense experience art!
This is fantastic!!
A series of these would be delightful!
She looks fabulous and I especially love the background and tea staining. The show sounds amazing!
I just dropped off my artwork and saw some of the other artwork for the show and it’s gunna be amazing!!
I wish I could tag along! Your creative community sounds amazing.
I used this image of the real Bearded Lady as my main reference. There are a lot of old photographs of her online, which is why I decided to tea stain her. I forgot to mention I painted her with only black watercolor paint at different values before I bathed her in Constant Comment.
I love the antique-y look. Your style always shines.
Love her! Seeing her actual image just shows how faithfully you rendered her as well. Really well done. How was the show?
The show opening is tomorrow night! I’ll let y’all know how it goes.
