The Bearded Lady

Today is drop off for the Vintage Circus art show at the community gallery. I decided I had time to make one more piece of artwork for it. I wanted the bearded lady’s portrait to look like an old weathered b&w photograph. So I painted her in black and grey watercolors and then stained her with tea, Constant Comment to be exact. She looks good and smells good. I put her in a black frame for the show.

I used this image of the real Bearded Lady as my main reference. There are a lot of old photographs of her online, which is why I decided to tea stain her. I forgot to mention I painted her with only black watercolor paint at different values before I bathed her in Constant Comment.
