A few years back an old friend showed up with a bag of dead prints and batiks and asked me to make a quilt, that hinted at deadheadness, but didn’t scream it.
I made a bunch of mismatched New York Beauty blocks, and paper pieced stars and some plaid string bits. There’s some grey on grey improv bits in there from a quilt I made for another one of our high school pack and even a sneaky potato chip print.
And it’s finally done done.
It took forever to quilt cause the size is monstrous.
This is… stunning. I’m stunned. Like both rambling and speechless. I love that the non-grey is not exactly symmetrical, but is balanced-but-still-a-bit-not-totally-balanced. Dead-y w/o being at all gimmicky.
