These Girls are Fangin'!

I made these for a vampire themed group swap outside of here, but they were so much fun to make that I wanted to share. I named each one after a famous vampire lady from books, TV, movies, mythology etc. I wish I would have written them down before sending them off so I could have listed them here.

I painted cardstock with black acrylic craft paint, painted the base of each one with acrylic marker pens and then added details with colored pencils, gel pens and fine liners.

These are a hoot! They look like they might all be members of a family band - sisters and cousins, winning out hearts through song. Then sucking our blood through our screams.

Love how they each have their own personality. The green haired one is my favorite.

I know it sounds silly, but I never would have thought to paint the base black first. I would have just painted the vamps and then painted the back. I feel inspired to try that with something now! Thanks for the inspiration.

I love a black base, and it was just cheapy black craft paint in the tube. It gave the background a matte black finish, but also a little texture for the acrylic markers to adhere to. I also kept some that I sponged stencils on (bats, appropriately) and they came out kinda kitchy, so I kept them for future ATCs.

I canโ€™t wait to see what you create from a black base!

These are really cool! The colors are so vibrant. I could totally see the gals in one of those 60โ€™s sci fi horror flicks in mini skirts and gogo boots. Total vamps!!
