Tissue Cases

I made some fabric cases for pocket pack tissues, as I was getting frustrated with the paper packs coming apart in my bag.
I used the pattern in this YouTube short From Alandacraft, and loved the first one so much that I made a second batch of 12 for a heart health gym charity that have been supporting my parents.

They were a fun small make to get my “Sew-jo” / sewing mojo back after a long break

They came out awesome. You must have an amazing fabric stash. I love all of these!

Thank you. I went into the loft/attic and dug out all sorts, including last scraps from stuff I swapped on C-ster! (the red flowers on the top row). It was such a happy walk down memory lane going through the stash.

Sew-jo is my new favorite word. Welcome back to LC! These are fabulous. The fox one is my fave.

These are so cute. I had one awhile back, but can’t find it, and as I’ve spent the last 6 weeks sick with everything, I’ve gone through a lot of pocket pacs. You’ve inspired me to make more!

Yeah, Sew-Jo sums it up pretty well hey! The pink one is so jolly. I love the foxes and the blue bird one because they are the last bits of fabric I loved.

The pattern only needs two pieces of fabric 5.5" high. The outer is 6.5" long and the inner is 7.5", so a it’s a good scrap project.

I made several for our house cos I knew they would hide for a while (and they’re a satisfying snack make!)

I chain pieced them and temporarily hung them as bunting in my sewing space cos it made me smile.

I hope you feel better soon.

Aw thank you so much :heart_eyes_cat:

These are great and a prompt for me to make some.

This might be a daft question, but our tissue packs feed the next tissue from the top, are you overs the same, and do they work ok, or do you remove them entirely from the pack to ‘install’ them.

That’s a very neat little tutorial btw.

This is the ones they are replacing, the image is a plastic one cos I couldn’t find a pic of the opening on the Tesco ones. They open on the red line:

I take them totally out of the packet and slide them into the case like this:

Then lift the case over the other side.

So far I have had a pack in my handbag for a few weeks and they don’t seem to get grubby or trashed, even with the long opening. They can hold 10 standard tissues.

Perfect, thanks for that clarification
