Tri-crylic Ornaments

For the ongoing ornament swap I decided I HAD to do something with the acrylic ornament blanks I haven’t touched for 2 years. They seemed like such a good idea at the time…even though I didn’t know what to do with them.

I ended up mixing a couple techniques. I’m calling them Tri-crylic ornaments because they’re Acrylic blanks with Acrylic paint on the front and back.

For the backs, I placed three paints on parchment paper and squished them to create a marbled effect. Once dry, I painted designs on the front. Finally, I sealed the fronts and backs with UV resin.

You really elevated the acrylic blank! Love the clever name, too.

I love the back-painted look of these. The resin topcoat really finishes them off nicely, too.
