Actually not bad for a first draft, but it does illustrate my difficulty when faced with a limited palette of available fabric and thread. The original Olivia was made from a small scrap. I have the proper thread color for that. This Olivia or maybe Oliver, was made from the next best color I had. But my thread choices were too limited. You can’t really see his angry face. Although you can probably infer it from the way he is trying to pull out the toothpick.
Today I got an order of olive thread and made a trip to the embroidery store to root out a proper green. We shall see how that goes.
And we shall see if I can figure out a way to put the frills on the toothpick.
You know I am supposed to be finishing my pirate, making purrmaids and figuring the celery for my relish tray .,… and now all I want to do is make a giant olive you plushie. It already has huggy arms. What does it hug???
Mmmmmm
Which is probably better than the pirate versus ninja we usually have going on around here. But we are currently heavy on pirates and the ninjas are no where to be found.
Not that I know of. But pirate and my ninja are two of Cosplay Kitty’s most popular costumes. And while I have the ninja finger puppet I haven’t gotten around to making the pirate one.
Your characters are so fun and imaginative. I love their little string limbs, they’re the perfect finishing touch. The toothpick along with Oliver’s expression are quite entertaining. Also, I want to take a trip to this embroidery store!
